Diesel LHD Loader Operation in Underground Work

The diesel LHD loader plays a crucial role in underground operations, undertaking important loading tasks. Its operation requires operators to have proficient skills and a rigorous attitude to ensure reliable performance.

Pre-Operation Preparation:
After entering the cab, the operator should first check whether all instrument readings are normal, confirming that engine oil pressure, water temperature, and air pressure are within the specified ranges. Next, inspect the control levers and pedals for flexibility and reliability, and ensure that the braking and steering systems are functioning properly. At the same time, observe the surrounding environment, clear obstacles from the travel route of the loader, and make sure the working area is safe.

Approaching the Material:
Start the engine and wait until it runs smoothly. Based on the position and distribution of the material, operate the steering system to slowly drive the loader toward the pile. During the approach, carefully observe the surroundings and maintain a safe distance between the machine and the tunnel walls to avoid collisions. Select an appropriate travel speed—generally using a low gear—to ensure precise operation.

LHD Loaders

Loading Operation:
When the loader reaches the proper position, lower the bucket until it is level and in contact with the ground. Then operate the lift lever to insert the bucket into the material pile at an appropriate speed. During insertion, adjust the engine speed and bucket penetration depth according to the looseness of the material and the resistance, in order to prevent engine overload or bucket damage. Once the bucket is full, lift it to a suitable height, typically 300–500 mm above the ground, to prepare for transportation.

Hauling and Dumping:
With the bucket loaded, steer the loader toward the dumping location. During transport, maintain a proper driving speed, pay attention to the road conditions ahead, and avoid sudden braking or sharp turns. Upon arrival, stop the loader securely, then operate the dump lever to slowly tilt the bucket forward, discharging the material into the designated location. After unloading, return the bucket to its original position and prepare for the next loading cycle.
